WikiPortraits Hub: Privacy Policy

What we collect

  • What you enter when you apply: your name, email, phone, location, photography experience, gear, websites, Wikimedia username, and other info you choose to provide.
  • What you add to your profile after you join.
  • What you do here: the events you ask to cover, the events you suggest, and the comments you post.

Who can see it

  • WikiPortraits admins can see everything you submit.
  • Other members can see the answers marked "Shown to members": your name, city and country, gear, websites and organizations, along with your bio, profile picture, photo credits and the events you cover.
  • The public sees only what you choose to list on the Photographers page. Public event pages show how many photographers are covering an event, not who.

Email and phone

We may use your email and phone to reach you about WikiPortraits logistics. We may also share them with others involved when needed, for example by copying them on an email about an event you are covering.

Cookies and other services

  • The site sets one cookie to keep you logged in.
  • The map and the city search load data from OpenStreetMap.
  • Photos load from Wikimedia Commons.
  • Email is sent through Resend.

Having your data removed

Write to [email protected] to request to have your data removed from this platform. Photos you uploaded to Wikimedia Commons stay there under their free license.
